Edinburgh Castle is looked after by Historic Environment Scotland (HES).
It’s one of the oldest fortified places in Europe. But this ancient stronghold, set upon its mighty rock in Scotland’s capital, is just one of over 300 castles, abbeys, cathedrals and other historic sites that we’re privileged to care for.
As a Scottish charity (number SC045925), it’s thanks to the generosity of people all over the world that we can go above and beyond to protect Scotland’s heritage.
