The Esplanade: We are Magic

Bringing objects to life might be the ultimate magic.

To start this year’s Castle of Light, we do just that and re-awaken the statues of William Wallace (c.1270-1305) and King Robert the Bruce (1274-1329). They may have met during their lifetimes but there is no firm evidence. 

The Stone of Destiny has resided in Edinburgh Castle since its return to Scotland in 1996. Next year it will go on permanent display in Perth.
