Gather up to 120 guests in one of our grander rooms, or say ‘I do’ in the tiny chapel that is Edinburgh’s oldest building. Each venue has sweeping vistas beyond its door.
We can host both your ceremony and reception, so you can spend more precious time with your loved ones. You can even arrange a private viewing of Britain’s oldest Crown jewels for guests. Round off an incredible day with fine food and dancing in the footsteps of royalty.

Queen Anne Building
Ceremony capacity: 120 guests
Reception capacity: 170 guests
Grand wedding banquets suit this sumptuous setting at the heart of the castle. Available for your exclusive use, the Queen Anne Room can host an afternoon ceremony and evening reception.
Drinks and canapés are served in a charming indoor courtyard. Wheelchair accessible.
Gatehouse suite
Ceremony capacity: 34 guests
Reception capacity (drinks only): 40 guests
Luxurious and intimate, this 19th-century suite is ideal for celebrations on a smaller scale. Make your vows in a grand, wood panelled room, then step next door for your first toast as a married couple.
Wedding photographs can be taken on the private terrace, with its breathtaking views of Edinburgh. The Gatehouse Suite is reached via a spiral staircase.
St Margaret's Chapel
Ceremony capacity: 20 guests
Surround yourself with your closest loved ones in this small chapel built by David I around 1130 solely for use by the royal family. Edinburgh’s oldest building is beautifully preserved, with its ornate original arches and stained glass windows added in the 1920s.
Drinks and canapés can be served in the Queen Anne Anteroom after the ceremony.

Jacobite Room
Reception capacity (dinner): 100 guests
Reception capacity (evening reception): 150 guests
Modern interiors meet majestic high ceilings within an 18th-century building. As night falls, views of the twinkling lights of the city below replace a dramatic outlook over the Firth of Forth.
For flexibility, pre-dinner drinks can be served in the Redcoat Room next door and both rooms can accommodate dancing.
Available to hire outside of castle opening times only. Wheelchair accessible.

Civil, religious and humanist ceremonies may be held in the Queen Anne Room and Gatehouse Suite.
St Margaret’s Chapel can only host religious ceremonies.
